We have four full
size floors at Mt Rainier allowing us to have up to 16 teams. Team camp is an intense week of full and half
court scrimmages, drills, team chalk talks against some very tough
competition. Each day you will work
against multiple teams building your man, zone, and special play offenses and
defenses. You will work with your team
on transition offenses, press breakers, presses, out of bounds plays, and
special situation plays. One of the
great assets of this camp is each coach’s gets to work solely with his/her own
team the entire camp. Another asset is
being able to give all your players plenty of time to develop as there is no
score kept during the daily scrimmages.
It is a great time for coaches to see what others are doing that you
might add to your game plan.
Water is provided
through water fountains in each gym. We
recommend each player bring water bottles that can be refilled at each
break. We also recommend that each
player bring snacks, and a lunch for those break times. Each coach is responsible for making sure
your players are properly prepared for each day’s camp activity. Ice will be available for those needing it, however there will be no trainer in the facility during
the camp.
Director Alan Guffey
has spent 44 years coaching basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and
softball in various high schools. He
understands just what a coach would want when attending a camp to improve your
team. “This type of camp has put me two
weeks ahead of schedule when the season begins.” The kind of time a coach will spend with
his/her players in this camp will benefit every player on your team. Contact Alan at 425-744-1860 or email at wtabball@comcast.net.
